Hinsdale County Senior Services
Hinsdale County has a large community of those 50 years and older and
those numbers are increasing yearly. Our Public Health office has a
Senior Services Coordinator whose responsibilities include providing
resources, referrals and service coordination for seniors.
Our 50+ community is very important to Hinsdale County and we
recognize the ever growing need for support and social activities for our
senior residents. Some of the programs, services and office
responsibilities are:

- Nutrition Education
- Coordinator for Healthy Senior Lunches
- Physical fitness classes and education
- Homemaker services for qualified residents
- Quarterly Newsletter
- Coordination of some social events
- Bi-weekly notice board at Post Office of upcoming events
- Providing service coordination for seniors and their families to
include information and referrals for local, regional, state and
national resources - Work with community agencies to facilitate coordination of senior
services - Communicating upcoming local, regional and state senior events
and educational opportunities with seniors. - Representing senior issues and concerns within Public Health
- Serves as a Senior Advocate in the County and Town of Lake City
- Assisting senior community members to complete complex
paperwork required to access health and human services

Senior Activities
Senior Lunch-Seasonal
Schedule: 1st & 3rd Friday of every month
Time: Noon
Place: Baptist Fellowship Hall
Senior lunch Schedule is the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. Senior
lunches caters to a health lifestyle of a health adult. At the cost of $6.00
a plate getting 3 course meal of a Salad, Lunch Entree and Dessert. Call
the Sr.Coord. Sarah Landry for Lunch Delivery qualifications at
944-0321. Last Lunch for the season will be Friday, May 7th, 2010.
Senior Pilates
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Time: 9:00AM
Place: Armory
For a great way to keep your healthy lifestyle we offer Pilates class.
Giving you the benefits of exercise that is reported to keep you stronger,
longer, leaner and more able to move with grace and ease.
Hinsdale County Homemaker Program
This Program is a light housekeeping program available for seniors age
60+ who demonstrate the need for this service. To learn more about
this great program, contact the Sr.Coord. Sarah Landry 970-944-0321
Comfort Keepers-Family Caregiver Support Program
We help seniors live happy, healthy lives in the comfort of their own
homes by providing quality, compassionate care and safety technology
solutions to preserve independence and contribute to a better life. For

Senior Van
Its the County's goal to provide a transportation option to our Seniors
who are eligible. This service that is offered is for medical appointments
or groups traveling. Please Contact the Sr. Coord. Sarah Landry at
970-944-0321 for eligibility and Scheduling at the Admin Office
970-944-2225.
